Vitamins and Nutrition

One question on many people's mind is, “Why are there so many vitamins on the market?” Although some individuals may want a single answer, there are actually several reasons for this often curious concept.

The first, and most obvious, reason that there are so many vitamins on the market today is that companies need to make money. As with any company in any field, the primary goal is to generate revenue. The more products a company can offer, the more profit they can earn. Additionally, by offering a variety of products, a company can gain more exposure among consumers. These factors make it worthwhile for a company to provide multiple products.

The second reason for the multitude of vitamins which are available is that they can actually be useful in certain situations. If there was absolutely no need for these vitamins, they would not still be on the market. Although the majority of individuals need nothing more than a multivitamin, certain situations and conditions warrant the use of individual vitamins. For example, if you are lacking in a certain area of vitamins, your doctor may prescribe a daily dose of a specific vitamin. Whether you need a little extra Vitamin A or E, an individual daily vitamin may be the answer for you.

At first glance, the vitamin market may seem like an extremely confusing one. With the large amount of vitamins available, it can be easy to get confused about which kind of vitamins you need. However, for most people, a simple daily multivitamin will suffice. In some specific cases though, it may be necessary to add an additional vitamin or two to your daily regime. If this is the case, a doctor will give you the necessary instructions to properly supplement your regime.
